Geboortebegeleiding / Foaling assistance

Wij bieden de begeleiding aan voor externe merries tijdens de geboorte van hun veulen. 

Hoe gaan we te werk? 
• De merrie komt toe en word in een bewaakte stal onder een camera gebracht.

• Dierenarts komt de volgende dag om te kijken of alles goed is met de merrie alsook bepaald ze de positie van het veulen als deze in de juiste positie ligt om geboren te worden. 

• De merrie krijgt haar geboorte alarm aan zodat wij zeker bij de bevalling aanwezig zijn. 

• Wij testen de Ph waardes dagelijks van de merrie en houden haar zeer nauwlettend in het oog. 

• Tijdens de bevalling helpen wij waar nodig en zorgen we dat het veulen de best mogelijke start krijgt. De navel word vlak na geboorte ontsmet. We kijken of de merrie haar volledige nageboorte afkomt, Wij zorgen ervoor dat het veulen zelfstandig de uier kan vinden en ze voldoende biest binnen hebben, wij kijken of het veulen goed mest en verder alles normaal verloopt.

KOSTPRIJS GEBOORTEBEGELEIDING: €185 dit is inclusief de pre vetirinaire check up. 
KOSTPRIJS STALLING: €150/maand (indien minder word dit uiteraard verrekend) 

eventuele extra kosten NIET inbegrepen:

• Snap foal

• Veulen spuitje

• Bezoek veearts voor andere zaken buiten de pre check up. 

Foaling Assistance Services

We offer professional foaling assistance for outside mares during the birth of their foals.

How do we work?

  • Upon arrival, the mare is placed in a monitored foaling stall equipped with a camera system.
  • The veterinarian visits the following day to ensure that the mare is in good health and to determine the position of the foal, confirming that it is correctly positioned for birth.
  • The mare is fitted with a foaling alarm so that we can be present when labor begins.
  • We test the mare’s pH levels daily and monitor her very closely.
  • During foaling, we provide assistance whenever necessary and ensure that the foal gets the best possible start in life. The umbilical cord is disinfected immediately after birth. We check that the mare has expelled the entire placenta, ensure that the foal can independently locate the udder and receives sufficient colostrum, and monitor that the foal passes manure normally and that everything else is progressing as it should.

Pricing

Foaling Assistance: €185
Includes the pre-foaling veterinary check-up.

Boarding/Stabling: €150 per month
(If the mare stays for less than a month, the cost will be adjusted accordingly.)
